Training and multimedia
TriMM, Training and interactive MultiMedia, was established in 1993 by Willem Jaap Zwart. As a Ph D student, Willem Jaap saw the possibilities of interactive media for education. He decided to start for himself because his former employer, the University of Twente, could not consider demands from companies, institutions and schools about deploying computers.
The start of the company happened at the same time as the Internet was emerging. KPN and, a year later, Philips Semiconductors (now NXP) approached him for managing and extending a website and they became clients. Thus TriMM was one of the first Dutch companies that offered Internet applications commercially.
New step
The current management members, Kathy van Eijkelenburg and Marc Woesthuis, took TriMM over. Marc already worked at TriMM for eight years as a project manager (and in all sorts of other roles). Kathy and Willem Jaap knew each other from when they were students. She was looking for a new challenge after having had a number of executive positions at KPN.
