Mobile app launched for Philips Lighting

By Frank van Doorn.

Within the space of two weeks TriMM designed and built a mobile application for Philips Lighting. This application will be presented during the Horti Fair which will be held in the RAI in Amsterdam.

The Horti Fair is the largest international exhibition for technology, innovation and inspiration in horticulture. During the Horti Fair, Philips Lighting will present lighting projects and products in horticultur. This year, the Philips Lighting team will be supported by a mobile application, developed for the iPad by TriMM. This application can be deployed to Android tablets as well.

Sales managers at the Horti Fair will use this application to inform potential customers in a simple and visually attractive way about projects Philips Lighting runs in collaboration with their partners: horticulturists, universities and research centers. After the Horti Fair, Philips Lighting will keep using the application as a tool for sales managers when they go on visits to potential customers.

The application contains information on nearly 50 projects in Philips Lighting Horticulture. With filters, a sales manager can make a appropriate selection of projects for his clients and show the lighting solutions that Philips Lighting has implemented in various projects. A selection can e.g. be made on benefits of Philips Lighting solutions: improved yields, energy conservation, and efficient use of space.

This application will be used on other events and fairs worldwide as well, such as the Agricultural Innovation which will be held November 30 to December 2 2011 in Japan.

Thus, this application can be used in the long-term by Philips Lighting both nationally and internationally.
